The Joe Jr. portable kamado grill is all about summertime; and this grilled recipe for a burger dog - this is a combination of both a hamburger and a hot dog. This is an unique recipe for elevating your next grilled hamburger. Using the Joe Jr grill, this recipe is great for camping or enjoying tailgating. Enjoy this fun, easy and creative cook with friends and family!

  1. 01

Stabilize your grill at 425 F.

  3. 02

Spread your ground beef on plastic wrap, press it thin and in a rectangular shape the length of a hot dog. Once shaped, lay cheese strips down the center. Season the cheese and meat, then roll tightly making a calendrical tight roll with the cheese in the middle.

  5. 03

Twist both ends to help set the shape and transfer the burger dog to the refrigerator.

  7. 04

When the grill is ready, take the burger dog out of the refrigerator and season the exterior then coat with just a touch of oil.

  9. 05

Place the dog on the grill. As it is cooking, toast your bun. Allow each side to sear as the dog cooks evenly. Allow the burger dog to cook until the cheese is melted and your have reached your desired internal temperature. For this particular cook, I prefer medium.

  11. 06

Place the cooked burger dog in the toasted bun and garnish with ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Enjoy!
