Maintaining a consistent temperature in your Konnected Joe is a key element of having a great cooking experience. There are two separate methods for maintaining the temperature in your Konnected Joe depending on if you are using classic cook mode or automatic cook mode.
Maintaining Temperature in Classic Cook Mode
If you want to lower the temperature of your Konnected Joe in classic cook mode, decrease the airflow through the grill by closing both the top and bottom vents more. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the temperature to start to decrease.
If you want to raise the temperature of your Konnected Joe in classic cook mode, open the top and bottom vents more. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the temperature to start to increase.
Ceramic kamados take time to adjust temperature. After a vent adjustment, allow 20 to 40 minutes for the grill temperature to stabilize before starting to cook.
Maintaining Temperature in Automatic Cook Mode
NOTE: When running your Konnected Joe in automatic cook mode, the bottom vent should always be fully closed and remain closed during the entire cook.
Your Konnected Joe will automatically maintain the set temperature in automatic cook mode. You can adjust the temperature using the Kontrol Board™ and make sure that you are adjusting the top vent to match what’s indicated on the Kontrol Board.
A note about heat deflectors: Heat deflectors should not be used when maintaining temperatures of above 400˚F in either classic cook mode or automatic cook mode. If you are maintaining temperatures below 400˚F it is recommended that you cook with the heat deflector installed for the best experience.
The Konnected Joe makes it simple to maintain the desired temperature over the duration of your cook no matter if you are cooking with classic mode or automatic mode. With these easy to use instructions, you will master cooking on the Konnected Joe in no time.
